THUNDERCAT HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

For :iconbuchi96: who won the "WHO'S THAT POKÉMON" contest that was held (exclusively) on facebook. [link] asked for a Luxray- I think I had one on my team my first run through of diamond., It was named Goku or something. As with most pokémon I design, I don't really like them to look exactly like the animal they are based on, so I tried to stay more true to the sprite with this one. His face is short and tapers to a delicate nose.

I'd also like to bring up my first experience with Corel Painter- which is to say in short- was a NIGHTMARE. I tried coloring this thing 4 different times before I took the base and switched over to photoshop.


AHURHURHURHUR. But don't fret, I'm not giving up. As I have told many of you, the key to anything is practice, and that's what kept me going. You have all been an inspiration to me in more ways than one. So I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their support and kindness.

I personally enjoy the original sketch a bit more. A realistic Luxray looks like a lion to me. It was sort of taken away in the final sketch (particularly the muzzle part.) However this picture is still good. The realism is still there and the proportions are still correct, even though they are less lion like.

Wow, another menacing 'mon! I love the fur, the teeth, the wrinkly snarl, and the crackling electricity in its mouth! Those Mystique eyes are real nice as well, and the unusual nose is cool. It really defines it as a pokemon as opposed to some animal coloured in a kind of pokemon fashion.
