Dog Pile by Leashe Dog Pile by Leashe
Took a break from commissions to make a personal piece. these are characters in my sketchbook that are going on an adventure. In their journey they come across a wise wizardly pig and stop for a spot of tea. More to come in this series!

Is this wise old hog from HOGwarts by any chance? Though judging by that burrow, maybe the Shire is more likely.

I always do like your adventurous crews, and this is a charming troupe of animals here. I see the dog from the dragon picture is back again (at least I think that's him, that bandanna sure looks familiar) and has some pretty neat-looking deer and rabbit companions.  I think my favourite of this bunch is the robin. He looks like the funny one in the group, while everyone else looks fixed on listening to Dumble-Boar's advice, he just gets right to drinking. Though I can't blame him, I just love the look of this porcine Merlin's teaset! The leafy design reminds me a lot of that picture you drew of your relative's family as garden-dwelling fair folk. It has lots of sweet, earthy, down-to-earth appeal, and I especially like the idea of leaf-formed dishes belonging to a community of animals (especially magical ones). The mushroom handle of the teapot suits this pig wizard particularly well, giving a magical fairy feel to it.

I also must say, I do adore that background! Every aspect of it is magical, sweet and full of good-natured charm from the cobbled bricks of the pathway to the mushroom-sporting garden near the hog's burrow to the sunlight-illuminated speckles of pixie-like dust flecks in the background. I do adore your imagination and ability to realize it to bedazzling effects.

On a final note, I love that you gave the dog traveller boots. A dog in boots has to be the coolest thing ever, and unlike most renditions of Puss in Boots, this intrepid canine has four of them. All the more prepared for dauntless expeditions! Love these characters!
